Our Legal Challenge

Stand Up Canada will be filing in Ontario Superior Court in the coming weeks against a Corporate business in Ontario for breaking the law by not honouring legal mask exemptions in public spaces:

• The business policy of “NO MASK NO ENTRY” is unlawful and is non-compliant with the provincial law under the Reopening Ontario Act which provides for mask exemptions under section 2(4) for all stages, and no requirement to provide proof under section 2(6) that they are entitled to these exemptions
• Businesses are not “private”; they have commercial insurance which invites the public to enter into their public space to receive their service
• Business policy does not trump the law!
