Exactly two years to the day when it first began...
On January 23, 2024, Federal Court Justice, Richard Mosely, rendered a decision that the Emergencies Act invocation on Freedom Convoy protest violated Charter rights and was unreasonable. It was unconstitutional.
This means that the Canadian Federal Government acted illegally when they invoked the Emergencies Act on February 14, 2022 on Freedom Convoy protesters.
You can read and download the federal court decision here - compliments of the Canadian Constitution Foundation (CCF), one of the Applicants in this historic legal action.
Well done to all of the Applicants in this very important legal action - we would not have had this major victory, if not for all of you!
This is a major victory for Charter rights, rule of law and democracy in Canada!
The 2022 Freedom Convoy began their journey from the west coast of Canada on January 23, 2022 and arrived in Ottawa Ontario on January 28, 2022 for a major protest to end all COVID-19 mandates. At the height of it, it spanned more than 100 km long, and not 70 km long as originally reported. And this doesn't include truckers coming from Québec and eastern Canada and up through the southern CAN/US Borders.
This was no "small fringe minority".
It ended by February 28, 2022, two weeks after the day the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, invoked the Emergencies Act on its unarmed citizens on February 14, 2022. The next day, the the federal government enacted Regulations and an Economic Order that would grant the federal government sweeping powers to freeze bank accounts and credit cards of protest supporters. This was a monumental over-reach by the government - it was beyond the scope of the authority and power granted by this law.
The freezing of the bank accounts sparked a massive reaction amongst Canadians who sent a strong message to Canadian banks and the Canadian government - they made massive withdrawals of their money from banking institutions.
Immediately following the invocation of the Emergencies Act, the peaceful protest rapidly turned violent when Police began to beat unarmed Canadian citizens, and trample them with horses.
On February 23, 2022, the invocation of the Emergencies Act was revoked.
What a dark and shameful period of time this was for the Canadian government.
But the story does not end there. It actually began with Canada's response to COVID-19 in March 2020. Canadians started protesting the measures that were violating our rights and freedoms - two years before anyone even heard of the Freedom Convoy!
There was always some protest happening in most provinces in Canada on a weekly basis - from coast to coast. Protesters were ignored by politicians in every level of government.
These Canadian citizens were exercising our constitutional right to protest, but like no other time in our history, Canada turned into a Police State.
The only response protestors received was from the Police who issued hefty fines, arrested and jailed Pastors and seized churches.
COVID-19 was the deliberate cataclysmic event which brought all of us together. It is without a shadow of a doubt that the COVID-19 measures caused far more harm than good.
Suddenly, there was an explosion of organizations like Stand Up Canada, who also grew out of nowhere in response to the government's response to COVID-19. In a major effort to connect all groups/organizations, Freedom Rising was created mid 2021. An invaluable tool Canadians can use to connect with others and not feel alone. There are over 450 allied groups, organizations and influencers in Freedom Rising - what an amazing initiative and accomplishment,
And all of you who stood up to say “NO!”. The thousands of you who came to Parliament Hill in Ottawa, Ontario in 2022 during our freezing cold Canadian winter, to join with Truckers and stand up for our right and freedoms, and put an end to all COVID-19 mandates. To the tens of thousands more who began protesting all over Canada since 2020, two years before anyone would even believe that a trucker convoy would happen.
Unfortunately, there were many Canadians who blindly followed government lockdown orders that were unconstitutional. These citizens lacked the fundamental understanding of our rights and freedoms in Canada. This was a major part of the problem.
How all of this and so much more led to the momentum that created the 2022 Freedom Convoy, which forever changed Canada and the world.
May 9, 2021: John Carpay, Lawyer and President of the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (www.jccf.ca), created a compelling 15 minute video, showing the sober reality of how lockdown measures in Canada are harming Canadians.
And how Canada has turned into a Police State.
Incredibly hateful and divisive words from Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, about Canadians.
In the Sep. 16, 2021 interview which aired on the French-language program La semaine des 4 Julie, Trudeau referred to unvaccinated Canadians as “extremists, misogynists and racists", including when he said, "do we tolerate these people?".
How can anyone, in good conscience, believe that this is acceptable language from the Prime Minister of one of the most freest and democratic countries in the world?
The hatred and division between Canadians over being "anti-maskers" or "anti-vaxxers" was created and fueled by our PM, Justin Trudeau and Canada's state-paid-media.
Liberal supporting Toronto Star published their front page headline with horrific hate speech for the "unvaccinated". Only later to back peddle from outage that was sparked by this headline. This headline was nothing more than their obvious and personally hateful and biased views. That is not journalism. That is hate speech at it's fullest.
This is simply unacceptable.
January 27, 2022: More powerful, hateful and divisive words from our Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, about Canadians as he calls the Freedom Convoy a "small fringe minority" who hold "unacceptable views".
"Unacceptable views"? Pardon me? Isn't anyone allowed to have their own views and opinions even if they differ from the government?
10 million unvaccinated Canadians is not a "small fringe minority. "90%" is another lie by the PM, meant to fuel hatred and division amongst Canadians.
February 2022: Important message from Pastor Artur Pawlowski (from communist Poland) to protestors and all Canadians who value their freedoms!
Pastor Pawlowski was later arrested and jailed for his talk with protestors in a restaurant near the Coutts CAN/US border crossing in Alberta during the Freedom Convoy.
What kind of country has Canada turned into?

We uploaded it from our Vimeo channel.
This video was created as a tribute to the truckers, farmers, and Canadians who stood up to fight for the rights and freedoms of all Canadians. It captures the epic story of the 2022 Freedom Convoy. A must-see video for all Canadians.
The Freedom Convoy would grow to inspire countries around the world to stand up as well.
No one understands this concept better than Pastor Artur Pawlowski. Born and raised in communist Poland.
In May 2021, he was arrested by Calgary Police on a highway on his way home from hosting a Saturday church service in defiance of lockdown rules.
He was not going to submit to or agree that he had done anything wrong by preaching the word of God.
Pastor Pawlowski was not voluntarily agreeing to being arrested and so his action of dropping to his knees was an important demonstration of nonviolent and peaceful civil disobedience.
This is never an easy thing to do.
One of humanity's greatest teachers about nonviolent and peaceful civil disobedience, Mahatma Gandhi.
During his 1919-1924 era as a leader in the Indian National Congress political party, when Indians were oppressed under British rule, he introduced a "satyagraha", which is a concept of “holding onto truth”.
This concept was to designate a determined but nonviolent resistance to evil.
Gandhi’s satyagraha became a major tool in the Indian struggle against British imperialism and has since been adopted by protest groups in other countries.
In so doing, the satyagrahi encounters truth in the absolute. By refusing to submit to the wrong or to cooperate with it in any way, the satyagrahi asserts that truth. Throughout the confrontation with evil, the satyagrahi must adhere to nonviolence, for to employ violence would be to lose correct insight.
Canadian protestors employed the same methods taught by Gandhi when they came to parliament hill in Ottawa ON in the freezing winter of 2022.
True to Canadians natural good nature, protesters sang our national anthem, waved Canadian flags, hugged one another including police, danced in the streets, fed one another, let their children play in a bouncy castle, and played street hockey.
The 2022 Freedom Convoy protest is the greatest expression of civil disobedience in the history of Canada.
Ever.
On January 23, 2024 there was a historic federal court ruling that vindicated the 2022 Freedom Convoy - the invocation of the Emergencies Act was unreasonable and unconstitutional. Meaning, that Trudeau broke the law when he invoked the Emergencies Act on Canadian protesters during the Freedom Convoy.
What is our ultimate lesson?
We must always remember that we have a constitution right to protest.
That our protest must always been peaceful and nonviolent.
And above all else, we must never be afraid to stand up for our rights and freedoms in Canada.
The first ones through the wall are the bloodiest.
