The following article is for general information only, and should not be construed as legal, medical or union advice.
The Ontario Educators Association is still very much in existence. We have decided to archive our page on our website, where we initially provided them support with their initiative.
This page is dedicated to the groups of educators in Ontario who stand united against the forced and coerced medical intervention of workers and against the discrimination
faced by those who have exercised their right to decide on their bodily autonomy.
WHO WE ARE:
We are a group of almost 2000 members of the education sector representing 60 school boards across Ontario. Our members include: Teachers, (Designated) Early Childhood Educators, Educational Assistants, Librarians, Custodians, and Support Workers and Administrators. We are working together to support one another, and oppose the mandates currently being forced upon staff and students.
We are an association that connects our members to others in their school board, to take action specifically related to their board.
OUR GOAL:
Our goal is to unite as many members of the education sector from across Ontario to ensure our voices are heard, as we work together to oppose the mandates to protect the well being and education of children. We are also striving to protect our employment while maintaining medical privacy.
WHAT WE ARE DOING:
We are directing and supporting our members as they have been taking multiple actions to resist the mandates being imposed. Members are filing grievances with their unions, filing complaints with the Ontario Labour Relations Board, filing criminal charges, filing complaints with the Ontario Privacy Commissioner, and other legal actions.
Additionally, we are collaborating with and supporting the initiatives of other groups who are also opposing the mandates being placed on all Canadians.
If you are in the education sector and are feeling alone, reach out and join OEA. Click here to be directed to our intake form.
