The United Teachers of Ontario is still very much in existence. We have decided to archive our page on our website, where we initially provided them support with their initiative.
You are not alone. You are not the only one who feels lost, confused and angry.
The Canadian National Report on Immunization 18, 1996 tabled by the Public Health Agency of Canada acknowledges and informs that “Unlike some countries, immunization is not mandatory in Canada; it cannot be mandatory because of the Canadian Constitution”.
The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, 1982 supports the inherent right of Canadians to exercise free power of choice and thus to refuse medical treatment without disadvantage or prejudice.
The Supreme Court of Canada has recognized this inherent right under section 7 of the Charter.
Mandatory vaccination “policies” from employers do NOT trump the Supreme Court of Canada. Our government and employers know this – and now so do we!
We own our bodies – not the government. Period.
Note from Stand Up Canada:
If you are a teacher or educator in Ontario - or staff at one of the schools, and you have major concerns with the mandatory vaccination policy at work, you are not alone.

We have had numerous requests for developing a multi - channel forum that would house concerned Canadians against mandates from across the country, and so we have decided to do just that!
United Teachers of Ontario is now launching a chat and voice forum to include all provinces and territories. In addition, we have created a USA chat forum to accommodate the hundreds of requests we have received from our neighbours to the south.
Our DISCORD discussion forum is dedicated to: Teachers Students Parents Support staff Educational assistants Early childhood educators.
Please join Discord and share with others so we all can help continue the fight!
Please watch this powerful 5-minute video of Julie Ponesse as she gives her last ethics lesson at Western University on September 8, 2021.
At the time of this video, Julie Ponesse was a Professor of Ethics at Huron College at the University of Western Ontario - one of the largest universities in Canada.
Her employment was terminated due to her medical choice not to vaccinate.
- why was Ms. Ponesse not accommodated for her medical choice?
Ultimately, your body and the choices you make surrounding it are up to you.
We are providing educational tools to help you stand up for your rights, but please remember there may be consequences for any action or inaction you take surrounding this most important subject - your body.
Your life is not meant to be lived in fear. You are stronger than you think!
